WALK-THROUGH IN EASE OF ACCESS CENTER

A video walk-through in Ease of Access Center in Windows operating system.....

Ease of Access options can help make it easier to:

Use your PC without a display. Narrator lets you hear audio descriptions for elements on the screen, like text and buttons.

See what’s on the screen. Make the content on your screen more extensive using Magnifier or use a high contrast mode.

Use your keyboard. Turn on Sticky Keys, Toggle Keys, Filter Keys, or the On-Screen Keyboard.

Use your mouse. Change the pointer size or turn on Mouse Keys to use your keypad to move the mouse.

Remember at the beginning of this topic I said we have some physically challenged people who can see but can’t hear and those who can hear but can’t see, these people are those we refer to as special needs people.

The adaptive and assistive technology tools they can use are:

1. voice recognition program: it is used by special needs people who cannot see.

2. screen reader: it is used by special needs people who cannot see.

3. screen enlargement application; it is used by special people who have poor vision.

In summary, we talk about adaptive and assistive technology we said adaptive and assistive technology refers to any item, piece of equipment, or software used to increase, maintain, or improve the functional abilities of individuals with disabilities.

We also learn the steps to open the Ease of Access center and also how to use it on our computers.

And finally, we look at the special needs people and the various program they can use e.g., voice recognition, screen reader, and screen enlargement.
